Commit to Another Year of Progress
Congratulations on another successful tax season! We know it wasn’t easy, but the 2012 tax season was our most impressive as a field yet.
Now that the tax season is over, your attention has surely turned to the future: the VITA federal grant application, volunteer recruitment, event planning, funding, etc.
It’s also time to renew your NCTC membership.
We know that times are tight. But through it all, you’ve maintained your commitment to the field and NCTC because the benefits are well worth it. Here are a few (of the many) reasons to renew your NCTC membership:
• Priority access to funding opportunities – NCTC gave out more than $700,000 in grants to our members last year. As affiliates, you receive priority to these funds.
• FREE learning opportunities – We plan to offer more learning opportunities than ever over the next year. We’ve also added a new learning platform – NCTC Sound Bytes – for learning quickly and on your own time.
• Continued advocacy successes – The VITA matching grant has been sustained despite massive federal budget cuts. Refund Anticipation Loans are essentially dead. Serious threats to the EITC and CTC were averted. These successes need to be defended and built upon.
• Priority access to scholarships & discounts – With our 10-Year Anniversary Celebration, NCTC National Conference and other possible events around the corner, you’ll enjoy a discounted rate and recognition for these events.
In our ongoing effort to ensure the quality of every volunteer-prepared tax return in the VITA field, we’re also asking our affiliates to commit to our Quality Assurance Pledge. It demonstrates to our field’s funders, administrators and each other that we’re dedicated to honesty, integrity and quality of the highest level.
Just like you, we’re busier than ever with new and ongoing projects. I hope you’ll join us for another year of success for our clients across the country.
